UNITE Fundraising: Exceeding our Goal
Over the last few weeks, you’ve heard us talking about UNITE and our fundraising efforts to give our high schoolers the opportunity to attend this week-long gathering of Covenant youth. I’m thrilled to report that we have already surpassed our fundraising goal! We hoped to raise $7,800, and to date, we’ve raised $9,400!
On behalf of the First Cov UNITE 2024 team, thank you! Thank you so much for your generosity to our youth — for showing them your love in such a tangible way. And a special thank you to Elena Waite for organizing and guiding our students through the fundraising process.
If you were planning to donate and haven’t yet, don’t sweat it! Please save that money for the next time our youth fundraise for an event or cause.
You may be wondering what will happen to the excess money raised thus far. Anything that we don’t use for this trip will be earmarked for the UNITE 2028 in four years. It’s exciting to think that we’re already on our way to raising the funds we’ll need when our young people like Anna, Julia, Oskar, Svea, and Felix will be eligible to attend.
While we’ve raised all the necessary funds, we still need your involvement. We covet your prayers as we prepare to travel to San Diego and spend this intense week getting to know one another, other youth in the Covenant denomination, and — most importantly — our God. Please pray for us. Pray for Brent Strobel and me as we guide our youth on this trip. Pray for Elsie Nelson Brown, Phia Waite, Axel Nelson, Wesley Nelson, Signe Blomgren, and Emily Rock — for safety, camaraderie, spiritual and relational growth, and for powerful encounters with the living God.
Grace and peace,
~ Pastor Lauren
